Air Sealing Techniques
Air travels directly and indirectly in your “building envelope.” Direct air paths are more visible.
For example, when you notice drafts coming from your windows, it is advised that you replace the weather stripping. The direct airflow makes up a very small percentage of airflow in your house.
The main sources of the airflow which exist in your home originate from these hidden gaps. We use a mixture of some specific materials, including caulk, single expanding foam, and two-part spray foam insulation to fill in the gaps. We perform air sealing to improve home energy efficiency. We air seal the following areas in your home:
- Hatches in your home
- Top or ceiling plates
- Dropped soffits
- Recessed lighting
